Obituary for Adelaide V Izzo-Carter (Addie)

Izzo-Carter, Adelaide (Addie) (Souza), age 78, of Plymouth passed away surrounded by family on Monday, February 7, 2011. She was born in Somerville, MA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Lawrence) Souza. She moved to Plymouth with her family as a young girl, graduating from Plymouth schools.

Addie was the loving mother of Jean White of Maine, formerly of Plymouth, Jack Izzo of Plymouth, Marie Izzo of Plymouth, Paul Izzo of Plymouth and Nicholas Izzo of Nebraska, formerly of Plymouth. She was the adoring grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother Joseph Souza of Florida and her sister Mary Portais of Plymouth as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her brothers Lawrence and Charles and her sister, Dolores.

Addie worked as a waitress/hostess for many, many years at McGrath’s restaurant in Plymouth. She was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed playing Bingo and loved traveling.

Funeral arrangements will be made by the Bartlett-Santos Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am, on Friday February 11, 2011 at St Mary’s Church in Plymouth. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private.
