Obituary for Richard Eskil Johnson

Richard E. Johnson, 80, originally of Quincy , Massachusetts passed away , after a long illness, on October 25, 2015, at the Colonial Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Weymouth, Massachusetts. Richard was a graduate of Suffolk University and worked many years as a union mason on the South Shore, and also spent some years working at the Quincy Shipyard as a carpenter. He was a great lover of the outdoors, and spent countless hours fishing, camping and hiking in the Blue Hills Reservation and walking his dog through Wampatuck State Park in Hingham, Ma. He loved staying physically active and fit, working out at the gym, swimming laps, and jogging.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia E. Johnson of Braintree, Massachusetts, and his two married daughters and their families; Joshua and Susan Brown and their three children ( Shannon and Dylan Hickey and Matthew Brown) of Hanover, Massachusetts; and Andy and Sara Hatch and their four children (Ryan, Zachary, Jemma and August) of Vermont. We will miss Dick but will continue to hold him in our hearts forever. May he rest peacefully in God’s hands.
