Leon M. (Chuck) Osachuk, 94, of Sandwich MA passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 28th at his home surrounded by his family.
Leon was born May 10, 1921 to Michael and Anna Osachuk. He was raised in Milford, Mass with his brother George and 2 sisters, Mary and Olga. He was a graduate of Milford High School, The College of the Holy Cross and Boston University Medical School. Just after graduation he joined the Navy serving his country from 1945-1947.
Leon was married to Ruth Ann (Love) on April 2, 1946 and began his medical practice in 1947 after he was discharged from the Navy. They moved from Rhode Island to West Virginia and finally settled in Lancaster, Massachusetts and lived there from 1964-2001. Leon was elected selectman for the town of Lancaster, served on the Lancaster and Nashoba Regional School Committees, and was very active in his church as a member of the Vestry for a decade at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Clinton, MA. Professionally, Leon was a Radiologist at Burbank Hospital until his retirement.
In 2001, Leon and Ruth retired to Sandwich, MA where they enjoyed playing golf, watching the Red Sox and spending time with their grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Ruth, his daughter Jean of Belmont and his son Michael and wife Sirpa and grandchildren Brittany and Erik.
