Obituary for William Harold Walz

William Harold Walz, age 85 passed away peacefully at his home in Duxbury surrounded by family on February 3rd, 2017. He was born on December 13th, 1931 in Brooklyn New York to Charles and Anna Walz, and was the youngest of four siblings. After moving to Valley Stream, he graduated from Brooklyn Tech and went on to serve in the Navy Submarine Corps on the USS Runner SS-476 during the Korean War.

Following service to country, Bill went on to marry Mary Carolyn “Lyn” McAnally on September 7th, 1957 and together had four sons and two daughters. He will be remembered most as a devoted husband and father, putting his family first and building a lifetime of memories. He loved his dogs, opened his home, and shaped a lot of lives. Bill was an accomplished electrical engineer in the aerospace industry and later had a successful career building a sales operation for an international company.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lyn; and his children, Douglas (Kathy), Roberta (John), Philip (Kym), Thomas (Cathie), James (Carrie), and Marianne (Steve); and 17 grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Calling hours will be from 9:30-10:30 am on Saturday, February 11th. A memorial service will follow at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury.
