Obituary for Margaret D Kennedy

Kennedy, Margaret, 87, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully at Beth Israel Hospital on Friday, March 24th, 2017. She was born in Bridgewater, MA, the daughter of the late Theresa (Silvia) and Manuel Mello.
Margaret was a loving homemaker, taking care of her family. She also worked for the telephone company as an operator before she got married.
Margaret liked to garden, she liked traveling; she and John traveled to Ireland many times.
Margaret was the devoted wife of 60 years the late John (Andrew) Kennedy-“Smiling Jack”, the mailman. She was the loving mother of John A. Kennedy III, of Plymouth, Patricia A. Webber of Plymouth, Margaret A. Kennedy of Plymouth and James M. Kennedy of Connecticut. She was “nanny” to 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way. She also leaves behind her sister Rita Soper, of Abington and her brother Richard (Dick) Mello, of South Dennis, her sister-in-law, Bev Mello, of Naples, FL, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Arthur, Fred, Joe and Ray Mello as well as her sisters; Irene Mello, Madeline Mendoza and Theresa Wilcox.
Funeral arrangements will be under the care of the Bartlett Funeral Home, 338 Court Street, Plymouth. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday morning, March 28th from 8:00-8:30 am A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 313 Court Street, at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, March 28th. Interment will follow at Bourne National Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Margaret’s memory to St. Mary’s Church.
