Obituary for Barbara Ann Joyce (Biagini)

Barbara Ann Joyce (Biagini)
The Extraordinary Miss B

Barbara (Biagini) Joyce passed peacefully on June 28, 2017, surrounded by loved ones. She was 81 years young. Originally from Quincy, Barbara (“Miss B” to many) raised 8 children in Braintree and worked for Bell Telephone before retiring to the Caribbean island of Anguilla, her adopted home. There she welcomed visiting friends and family to "Paradise," as she called it, sharing her love of island life. Many will remember Miss B from Oliver’s restaurant, where for many years she entertained guests nightly with her memorable stories.

After a spirited battle with cancer, the beloved mother and sister crossed the threshold with her daughters at her side, sun shining and birds singing. In dying as in living, Miss B was an extraordinary woman.

Miss B She is survived by six children: Debra and husband Jim LaMonica of Amherst, MA, Kerry Marie Joyce of Marshfield, Nancy and husband Brian Lafauce of Marshfield, Kevin Paul Joyce of Anguilla, Barbara Ann Joyce of Naples, FL, and Lori and husband Richard Galotti of Hanover, MA; ten grandchildren: Kelsi Marcotte, Lijah Joyce, Jacob Lafauce, Alisha Lafauce, Leah Goldman, Ben Goldman, Mary Walls, Damien Galotti, Jason Galotti, and Matthew Galotti. She also leaves two siblings: her devoted brother Peter and his wife Linda Biagini of Hampden, NH, and Andrew Biagini of Weymouth. Miss B was predeceased by daughter Kelly Marie, son Bill, and “Sista” Violet Murphy.

A memorial service will be held at St. Ann's in Hull on the afternoon of July 10, 2017, at 1:30 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be made in her name to the Pat Roche Hospice Home, 86 Turkey Hill Road, Hingham, MA 02043, where Miss B received exceptional care.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 1:30 PM at St. Ann's Church, 204 Samoset Ave Hull.  All who wish to celebrate Miss B's life are welcome.
