Charles (Gordon) Brownville, Jr. 84, of Brewster, MA passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the Wingate Nursing Home in Brewster, MA with his children Janice Holbrook, Deborah Hutton and Marcus Foley by his side.
Gordon was born in Asbury Park, NJ on May 28, 1933. He was the son of the late Rev. Dr. Charles Gordon Brownville Sr. and Elizabeth. He was the brother of the late David Brownville and (surviving wife Audrey) of Cape Cod, the late Joan Abbott of Cape Cod, and Althea Stone (surviving husband Carroll) of Mississippi. Gordon is survived by his sister Elizabeth (Betti) Currie of Cape Cod.
Gordon is survived by his seven children: Janice Holbrook, Deborah Hutton (husband Christopher), Christian Foley, Marcus Foley and Brewster Brownville (and husband Tony) all of Cape Cod. Charles Gordon Brownville III (wife Vicki) of Oxford, MA and Nancy Shores of Georgia.
Gordon is survived by his grandchildren: Matthew Hutton, Andrew Hutton, Brittany Hutton, Colton Hutton, Regan Brownville, Lindsey Shores and Nicole Shores all from Cape Cod. He leaves a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Gordon was a longtime Brewster resident. He graduated from Stony Brook University New York. He was a builder of houses and worked in the real estate business for most of his life. He served in the United States Coast Guard.
Gordon’s voice will surely echo out over Cape Cod bay for years to come.
We salute the fellow Coaster as he crosses the bay!
A memorial service to spread Gordon’s ashes will be held at a later date.
