George D Pike Jr.
George D. Pike, Jr.
November 12, 2017

George. D. Pike, Jr. of Kingston, MA passed away on November 12, 2017.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island, George was the son of the late George and Catherine Pike, devoted brother of the late Glen Pike, brother of Stephen Pike of Connecticut and uncle to Stephen Pike, Jr. of Florida and Bryan Pike of Rhode Island.
George was also devoted to his partner, Patricia Culbert of Kingston, MA,
Jay Culbert and his wife Tina of Groveland, MA, Christina Watts and her husband David of Plymouth, MA and cherished “Captain George” to Ronan and Aidan Culbert and Sophia, Logan and Audrey Watts.
George was also devoted to his dear aunt, Margaret Staples of Vermont, his cousins Christine Thomas and her husband Gerry and Tom Staples also of Vermont and Christine’s son Jonathan and his wife Amanda of New Jersey.

George graduated from Hope High School in Rhode Island and spent two years at Northeastern University in Boston. Soon after that he served in The Army National Guard from 1964-1970. After the six years in The Guard, George was off to work for several years in the field of carpentry and garage door service and became Self Employed in the same work from 1982 to
2016. With those skills, George built himself a beautiful home on Waterman’s Lake in Rhode Island.

Over the years, George had so many wonderful trips. His favorite ones
included a United States trip to 48 states with his treasured German Shepherd, Max, a family father, mother, Glen and George trip to Scotland and England, and exciting trips to Hawaii and to sailing in the Caribbean with his partner, Patricia.
George’s passion became the sea. He purchased a 47’ sailboat and enjoyed blue water sailing for several years. Later he settled in New England with his boat and he became an exciting Captain enjoying and teaching his family and friends the joy of sailing. George was a man who worked hard, cared very much for others and who left our world bright. His love shall endure.

A Celebration of George’s Life is being planned by his loved ones.

Donations in memory of George Pike may be made to McCarthy Care Center, 73 Service Road, East Sandwich, MA 02537.
