Margaret A Hogan, 80, beloved wife and mother, died peacefully in her home in Duxbury on December 27, 2017 after a brave fight with cancer. She was born in Framingham on October 26th, 1937 to the late Thomas J Gallivan and Catherine A (Hilliard) Gallivan. Margaret grew up in Framingham where she graduated high school and attended Framingham Union Hospital School of Nursing, becoming a Registered Nurse. She worked at Framingham Union and then Leonard Morse Hospital as the night nursing supervisor. She is predeceased by her siblings Anne O’Connor, Thomas Gallivan, Mary Sawyer, and Edward Gallivan and brother-in-law John Hogan.

Margaret, or, affectionately, “Mousie,” will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband and love of her life, Tom, whom she married on November 25th, 1960. Margaret leaves behind her adoring children- Timothy Hogan and wife Darla in Veneta, OR and LeeAnne Ruff and husband Jonathan of Keeseville, NY. She will be missed by her adoring grandchildren, Jordan (Alyssa) Ruff, Jenna (Brian) Drollette, Justus Ruff, Julia Ruff, and Rebecca Hogan Freitas, and “great-grandies”, Owen, Alton, and Oliver. She is also survived by her brother Francis (Christine) Gallivan of Kingston, NY and sisters Catherine Spinney of Hinsdale, MA, Ellen Magri of Marlborough,MA and her Sister-in-Law, Caroline Gallivan of Essex, MA. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins who remember her sense of humor and caring ways.

Margaret had passions for cooking, gardening, sewing, birdwatching, crossword puzzles and caring for her grandchildren. She was an avid learner, always trying new things and figuring things out for herself. Margaret loved to travel and to walk on Duxbury Beach. She was a nurse to the core and everyone who knew her was blessed by her nurturing spirit. She was a friend to anyone who crossed her path, spreading love with her smile, sense of humor, and outgoing nature. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

A funeral mass will be held on Sat. January 6th at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Duxbury MA with a celebration of life to immediately follow.
