Obituary for Margaret Elizabeth Anthony (Rhodes)

Anthony, Margaret, E., formerly a longtime resident of Bethlehem PA, and widow of the late Frederick P, moved to the South Shore in Massachusetts where she lived out her remaining life.  After celebrating 100 years in August 2017 at All American Assisted Living Hanson MA, Margaret returned to her daughter’s home in Hanover MA in December on hospice services.  Surrounded by family, Margaret passed peacefully on January 10, 2018 in the loving care of her daughter Linda Pierce. Born in Kingston PA she was the daughter of William and Louise (Issac) Rhodes and was preceded by her brothers Paul and William Rhodes.
Margaret who was affectionately referred to as Peg, enjoyed an active and vibrant life traveling throughout the West and visiting family with Frederick and their beloved dog Sam.
In 1982 Peg met the late Robert Ference, visited with Bob's 2 two children Lisa and David Ference, traveled and sailed the Chesapeake Bay and waters off the coast of Scituate where they retired.  In later years Peg enjoyed hiking Mt Evans at 96 years old, whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River at 97 years old and horseback riding in Breckenridge at 98 years old while living in in Colorado with family.
Margaret is survived by her children; Karen Lintner and her husband John, of State College, PA, Frederick Anthony Jr and his wife Judy of Port Charlotte FL, Linda Pierce and her husband Richard of Hanover, MA, Susan DeAngelis of San Antonio, TX.   She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Kevin and Colby Lintner, Trey, Tracy Anthony and Stacy Phillips, Jonathan, Nathaniel Pierce and Ashley Pickens, Theadra Swientek, Marina DeAngelis, Christine Darrah and Keith Anthony, Jr.  Margaret was blessed with 19 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her son, Keith Anthony and her grandson, Brandon Shedrick.   
Margaret will be placed with her husband Frederick and son, Keith.  Afternoon services are planned for one o'clock Thursday April 19 2018 at the Memorial Park in Bethlehem PA.
