Obituary for Joseph Souza

Joseph  Souza
Souza, Joseph George Sr., age 73, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2018 surrounded by his family.
Born in the town of Plymouth, he was the son of the Late Joseph Souza and Mary Carmen (Santos)Souza.
He was very proud of his North Plymouth heritage and worked at Perry's Market from the age of 7 years old for his godfather Joseph Perry.
He was a member of the Army National Guard and then joined the Plymouth Police Department where he made many lifelong friends. He went on to open Souza's Towing and Repair which he successfully owned and operated for 45 years.
Some of his favorite days were spent fishing and taking trips to P-Town on the Golden Fleece with his family. He was also an avid fan of the Celtics and Patriots.
He was predeceased by his father Joseph Souza and mother Mary Carmen Santos Souza and his father and mother- in- law Harold and Eleanor Moore and his grandson Brett Bloom with whom he shared a birthday. He is survived by his wife Shirley (Moore )Souza, his sons Joseph George Souza Jr (wife Kristin Lee Souza), and Michael Alan Souza, daughters Sherri Robidoux Chandler (husband Mark), Lisa Robidoux Bloom ,( husband David), Renee Robidoux Stoddard (husband Donald). He also leaves behind his cousins Gary, Steven, Laurie Almeida and Richard Costa as well as many treasured nieces, nephews grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Friday January 26th, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm at Bartlett Funeral Home 338 Court Street, Plymouth. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday January 27th at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Church in North Plymouth. Interment will follow at Vine Hills Cemetery.
