Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Carolyn Pickel can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Carolyn Eleanor Pickel
“Carol”, of Plymouth, formerly of Hingham and Braintree, died peacefully at age 100 on March 4, 2018. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Beulah Freehan and the beloved wife of the late James B. Pickel. Loving mother of Richard W. Jones and his partner Nancy M. Hardesty of Wallingford, PA, James B. Pickel II and his wife Joyce of Plymouth, MA, and the late David E. Jones. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Laura Drew and her husband Kenneth and Jeffrey Pickel and his wife Amy, as well as her 5 great grandchildren, Kenny, Cam, and Mandy Drew, and Julia and Brian Pickel, all of Plymouth. She will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors. A graduate of Lynn English High School, she worked for the GE plant in Lynn during WW II, the First National Bank of Boston in the 1960s, and the Woodward School for Girls. She was a very active member of United First Parish Church in Quincy for many years. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at the Performing Arts Center at Linden Ponds, 300 Linden Ponds Way, Hingham, April 21st at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
