Obituary for David Richard Butka
David R. Butka, 76, of Lakeville, MA passed away peacefully on April 3, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Adoring and devoted husband of 49 years to Lois Anderson; loving father of Jay (Holly) Butka of St. Louis, MO and Dr. Matt (Melissa) Butka of Hanover, MA; adoring Pop to his grandchildren Emily, Laura, John, and Dan; brother to George Butka of Bridgeport, CT. David was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth Butka, and by his siblings Elizabeth Atkinson and John Butka.
David was born in Brooklyn, NY into an immigrant family and graduated from the University of Bridgeport. Through his career he held various manufacturing roles and was a landscaping small business owner. He loved to sail but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and grandchildren, and especially caring for Lois.
At his wishes there will be no funeral and interment will be at a later date. Arrangements by Bartlett Funeral Home and Cremation of Plymouth, MA.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in David’s memory to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org
