Obituary for Olimpia Goncalves
Olimpia Goncalves, of Dennis, Ma and Waterbury, CT. passed away on September 5th in Dennis MA at the age of 91.
Born January 24, 1926 in New Bedford, MA. Daughter of the late Augusto and Clarice Andrade.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Charles Goncalves .
She is survived by her daughter, Diane of Dennis, MA and her beloved grand daughter Dr. Emily Goncalves of Rego Park, Queens, New York.
She is also survived by her brothers Augie Andrade and sister in law Gloria of Naples, Florida and David Andrade and sister in law Ellen of Cheshire, Ct. She was predeceased by brothers James Andrade and Andy Andrade. She is also survived by her sisters in law Laurinda Goncalves, Marjorie Andrade and Laurie Andrade. Several nieces and nephews,grand nieces and grand nephews,and Jacqueline Rice, whom she loved as a "second" Daughter.
Olimpia worked for the Waterbury Democrat newspaper, and the Silas Bronson Library. Upon her retirement she lived in Dennis, MA. entertaining many family and friends with her delicious home cooked meals and wonderful baking.
All services are private.
Donations in her memory can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Arrangements are in the care of Bartlett Funeral Home, Plymouth, MA.
